Construction of a new, purpose built, factory beneath the cooling towers of Didcot power Station, UK.
Final year of normally-aspirated Cosworth power for Williams in the back of the FW08c.
The final race of the season is the dawn of a new era. At the South African Grand Prix the FW09 races for the first time, powered by the new Honda turbo engine.
Drivers Keke Rosberg and Jacques Laffite take Williams to 4th place in the constructor’s championship.
Williams test driver, Jonathan Palmer, gets a one-off drive for the team at the Grand Prix of Europe held at Brands Hatch. The team enters three cars. Palmer is the only Williams driver to complete the race coming home in 13th place, Laffite did not qualify and Rosberg retired.
